He is planning on moving there soon and has told me many times about these rural banks paying 18 to 20% on timed deposits. I agree with you, it doesn't maske any sense economically. Something is wrong. If this was a straight up everyday scenario, many investors from all over the world would flock to these opportunities. I would for sure especially when the equity markets worldwide are so tenuous. These banks would have to be making 20 to 25% on this money to come out on it and that could only be from some illegal or unscrupulous means? I think a much smarter idea is to simply day trade stocks and options on your computer any where in the world and the phillipines would be a great place because the cost of living is so cheap therefore you don't need to make as much money. With a social security income or another income and some reasonable trades, and whatever liquid cash you could bring to get a place to live, you could live very well very easy. You would probably find a nice lady and bingo now you can buy property with your stash and the rest is a piece of cake. The main thing is that I have changed my eating habits once and for all and believe I will slim down to 100kg (220lb) within 12 months of commencing and remain that way. I feel better and look better and am more positive and active. I urge everyone to consider taking action if they are overweight or obese, especially if they live in the Philippines. It isn;t easy but it can be done and it will be very well worth it!
