Sorry it is mid september and I have just noticed your comment. There are regular expos and conventions in Manila and also Cebu, usually held at Ayala mall. Keep watching the SunStar newspaper and web site for details. Cheers Perry

While day trading is an idea, you do need to know what you are doing. My friend is still involved in these Rural Banks and has made his money several times over since 2004. He has a Blog called Hi Interest Deposits or something, check it out http://hi-interest.blogspot.com/ Tell Dave Perry sent you. Believe me, I wish I had had the money to risk back then but I didn't so I haven't lost anything... or made anything. Cheers Perry

I live in the states and have a friend who frequents the RP and is married toa fila. He is planning on moving there soon and has told me many times about these rural banks paying 18 to 20% on timed deposits. I agree with you, it doesn't maske any sense economically. Something is wrong. If this was a straight up everyday scenario, many investors from all over the world would flock to these opportunities. I would for sure especially when the equity markets worldwide are so tenuous. These banks would have to be making 20 to 25% on this money to come out on it and that could only be from some illegal or unscrupulous means? I think a much smarter idea is to simply day trade stocks and options on your computer any where in the world and the phillipines would be a great place because the cost of living is so cheap therefore you don't need to make as much money. With a social security income or another income and some reasonable trades, and whatever liquid cash you could bring to get a place to live, you could live very well very easy. You would probably find a nice lady and bingo now you can buy property with your stash and the rest is a piece of cake. Just my thoughts

I returned to Australia once more overweight at 165kg (363lb) and in the past 8 weeks I have dropped 18kg (40lb) using walking and a low carb diet. The main thing is that I have changed my eating habits once and for all and believe I will slim down to 100kg (220lb) within 12 months of commencing and remain that way. I feel better and look better and am more positive and active. I urge everyone to consider taking action if they are overweight or obese, especially if they live in the Philippines. It isn;t easy but it can be done and it will be very well worth it!

I couldn't find your email, so here is something you may want to offer future franchise owners in the Philippines: You can sign up as an affilliate, and offer a great resource at the same time. Go to http://www.FranchiseResearchTools.com
Affiliate link area is towards the bottom...
